Some pics of our latest motor creation – Shelby/BBM 511ci Dual Quad Tunnelwedge Stroker Motor.
This motor will be next on our test stand and then to Dyno! (see results here with some of the photos and the dyno results.)
I post the Test Stand Video, and list some of the specs. Should be a fantastic, dual purpose, street and race motor. Pump gas 92 octane.
So please excuse my wandering video, but we are very pleased with the results of this motor. This with our ported C8AE-H iron FE heads.Flow numbers for these heads were 268/201 at .600 lift. Contact us if you are interested in what we charge for the porting on these heads.
The AFR curve was almost flat. Great results with this QuickFuel 735VS Carb. We used this carb for the slightly small primary venturies with stock 68 jets for good cruise mpg, and nice throttle response off the line. Oil pressure was awesome! Tuning was very straightforward. Made the most power at 39 degrees total advance.
The focus on this build was reliability along with great street cruising manners, good vacuum for the power brakes and cost but a motor that would still perform very well. She idles with 15” of vacuum at 900rpm!
According to Wallace, this motor will put this ’67 Galaxie in the very low 12’s @ 111 mph, in the quarter mile. In a ’67 Mustang, it would motivate to a tune of 11.40’s @ 119mph. That’s pretty fast for a very mild motor!
So here is the video for this motor. Enjoy the nasty FE sound!
This motor is in a jet boat, so peak torque is right where it needs to be. We are very pleased with the results. Lima Beans haul ass too!
